A client reached out to us to learn more about the process by which new medicines are brought to market. More specifically, the client wanted information about every aspect of the process, with a particular focus on the commercialization perspective.
Specific Area of Interest
The client sought to learn all the details of how medicine launch strategies are formulated and executed, including major challenges and bottlenecks that could negatively impact a drug launch and prevent a manufacturer from realizing their desired sales targets. The client also wanted to identify the differences, if any, between launching a branded medicine, a generic one, and a medicine that treats rare diseases.

After performing our usual due diligence, we were able to connect the client with industry experts with more than 10 years of experience in senior positions such as director, executive director, and vice president for major pharmaceutical manufacturing companies.
After speaking with these experts, the client had a much clearer understanding of how drug launch strategies are formulated and executed as well as potential challenges and hurdles to overcome in order for a drug launch to be successful.
