Micro Gas Turbines The Project

The Project

Recently, we heard from a client who wanted to gain greater insight into the existing and potential future opportunities for using micro gas turbines for decentralized power supply. The client wanted to know how these could be applied as a substitute for conventional diesel gensets and their potential desirability by oil and gas companies in situations like flare gas utilization as well as oil and gas extraction.

Specific Area of Interest

To better understand the market potential for micro gas turbines, the company asked us for help in learning more about how electricity is currently being supplied to both onshore and offshore oil and gas extraction as well as flare gas utilization. The client also wanted to learn more about which criteria are used by oil and gas companies when analyzing power supply to their onshore and offshore operations.

Our Impact

After carefully filtering and vetting several candidates from our database, we were able to connect the client with several well-placed experts who were able to speak on these topics, including a field production manager, a rig manager, and a production supervisor at some of the biggest companies in the oil and gas extraction sector.

The client was thus able to gain a much clearer understanding of the potential demand for micro gas turbines as well as how these products would be assessed in comparison to other technologies currently in use.
