The Project
The client was interested in getting a better understanding of how both food service companies and retail grocery buyers make their procurement decisions when it comes to produce and meat in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Specific Area of Interest
Beyond gaining clarity on how the produce and meat procurement process works for food service companies and retail grocery chains, the client also wanted to drill down on every aspect of the supply chain, including brokers, importers, wholesalers, and cross-border procurement of foodstuffs.
Our Impact
Following a stringent vetting process, we were able to connect the client with high-level professionals with years of experience in how fresh foodstuffs are procured and which factors influence the decision-making process.
The client was thus able to get a detailed, big-picture look at how fresh foodstuffs are sold across the NAFTA region (North American Free Trade Agreement between the U.S., Canada, and Mexico) as well as the role of all the players from start to finish in the produce and meat procurement process.
